雪解けの関川と河原の草花The Seki-river with Melt-water and Flowers along It
先週末、Rとエリーを連れて、関川へ散歩に。
Yoshy went out for walking to the Seki-river with R and our pet, Erie last weekend.
妙高山の雪解け水が、白波を立てて流れていました。
A big amount of melt-water from Mt. Myoko (2,454 m) was flowing white-water in the rapids.
あたりには誰もいなくて、河原の花をゆっくり鑑賞できました。
With very few people around us, we could enjoy walking along the river and watching various flowers or plants.
ヨッシーは花の名前を勉強中です。Rが教えてくれました。
Recently Yoshy belatedly started learning the names of flowers; so R told me them there.
1枚目：エリーと一緒の画像には、「スイバ」…別名、「ポンポンズイコ」…と書いて、同じ花だったか、心配！Rに聞けばいいのですが、もうこんな時間：起きればすぐに仕事の山！… 詳しい山下さま、ご確認くださいませ。(リンク先：「ふりかけのひとり言」が山下さまのブログです。)
First picture with Erie, You can see “Sorrel”, another name in Japanese is maybe “Ponpon-zuiko”; Yoshy wonders whether these two names tell this plant or not. Yoshy had better ask R right away, but she’s already sleeping; lots of business works are waiting for us tomorrow morning. So excuse me, but Yoshy is asking Ms. Yamashita who is much better at the name of plants than R to check this, please. 「スイバ」の花ことばは、「いつも愛して」。
The language of Sorrel is “Always Love me!”
2枚目には、「カラスノエンドウ」：花ことばは、「小さな恋人たち」と、「ヒメオドリコソウ」：花ことばは、「愛嬌」。
Second picture, you can see “Bush Vetch” whose language is “Little Lovebirds” and “Dead Nettle” whose one is “winsomeness”.
「ヒメオドリコソウ」の英語名は、恐いですね。「死＋苛立ち」…なぜこんな英語名なのかな？いわれがありそうですね。
BTW, the English name of “Dead Nettle” sounds scared, doesn’t it? It means “death and irritation”. … Why did they name it so? It may include some conspiratorial past.
