岩下豊作先生の最新俳句より
「百歳へ王手をかけし去年今年」
I’ve been putting my age of 100 in check since last year.
「かすがの寿俳句会報」 137号から。
This haiku-poem is from “Kasugano Haiku Bulletin # 137”.
2月24日(日)は外気温が終日氷点下で吹雪いていました。LLシホヤ新井教室PR看板作製用のビニールカバーをRと一緒に買いに留守にした折、お届けくださいました。郵便ポストにありました。失礼致しました。
It was stormy and the temperature was under zero all day long today: Sunday, February 24th. While Yoshy and R were out to buy a plastic cover for the PR-boards of LL Shihoya Arai School, Mr. Iwashita visited us to give me the bulletin, I found at our mailbox after his leaving; we are very sorry.
ご自身の解説によれば、「7月生まれで、白寿を過ぎて、今新しい年を迎えることができました。長生きと健康の秘訣は、吟詠と句会への参加です。百歳に向け新たな気持ちでスタートです。」と意気軒高でいらっしゃいます。
According to his own explanation of this poem, he wrote that “Thanks to you, my age of 99: Hakuju passed last July; I could reach another new year. The secret of my long life must be with the help of reciting Haiku and joining Haiku-meetings. I am starting this year with a fresh feeling toward 100!” Yoshy is happy to know he is in high spirits.
