STEPは何の略ですか？とLLシホヤ新井教室の生徒から、時々聞かれます。
Yoshy has been sometimes asked by some students of LL Shihoya Arai School what “STEP” stands for.
直訳は、「英語技能を検査するための協会」です。日本語名称は、(財)日本英語検定協会です。
Literal translation is above. We officially call it “The Society for Testing English Proficiency, Inc.”
10月14日(日)、LLシホヤ新井教室で、当教室生徒対象に、5級～2級を実施致します。
LL Shihoya Arai School is going to be in charge of carrying the 2nd Eiken, from grade:5th to 2nd out for LL students in LL Shihoya Arai School on Sunday, October 14th.

Let Yoshy introduce the first article of “the latest STEP Mail Magazine” as follows.
Here are five things I liked about this hotter-than-normal summer:
例年以上に暑かった今年の夏について、私が気に入った5つの事柄は：
1. Nice breezes in the early morning, though the heat was scorching for the rest of the day.
終日焦げるような暑さでしたが、それゆえの早朝の爽やかなそよ風。
2. Summer fruits seemed to taste sweeter, probably because of the heat.
多分暑さの所為でしょうが、夏の果物がいつもより甘くなったこと。
3. Fewer mosquitoes, probably because we had very little rain.
多分少雨の所為でしょうが、蚊が少なかったこと。
4. My little patch of garden seemed less weedy than usual.
私の小さな庭の雑草が、例年より少なかったこと。
5. Holidays, so I did not have to get up early, get to work, and come back home hot, sweaty and tired.
休暇のお陰で、早起きして会社へ行かなくてよかったので、暑く汗だくでくたびれながら帰宅しなくてよかったこと。
To be honest, though, I cannot possibly say I really enjoyed this past month.
